1 OURAY SILVER MINES INC. r
PO Box 564. 19tR1 Main Strec;t.Unit I.Ouray.Colorado.USA 81-t27 RECEIVED
Tel.970-325-9830-Fax.970-325-9824
JUL '12 2016
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
July 11, 2016 MINING&SAFETY
VIA U.S. Mail and Email
Travis Marshall, Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Reclamation. Mining, and Safety
1313 Sherman Street. Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Revenue-Virginius Mine Information Center"
The Revenue Mine(the Mine), located 5 miles southwest of Ouray, CO,which is owned and
operated by Ouray Silver Mines Inc. (OSMI)under permit M2012032(Permit). OSMI,as part
of our commitment to stakeholder outreach, education, and historic preservation, intends to build
a Revenue-Virginius Mine Information Center on patented claims on the north side of County
Rd. 26. The location is outside of our current permit boundary (see attached map)on patented
mining claims(Lincoln. Moltke. and Ottowa)owned by OSMI.
The Revenue-Virginius Mine Information Center will give both tourists and locals accurate
information regarding the mining legacy of the area and the current status of the mine. The
Information Center location provides a good, safe, view of the mine which cannot be achieved
by stopping and walking along the road as is the current practice.
No mining will occur at the Information Center. Disturbance will be limited to a 3' by 5' steel
sign supported by steel posts buried in compacted ground. The sign will be sheltered by an 8' by
10' picnic shelter supported by four 4"by 6"posts buried in compacted earth and covered with
corrugated steel. An adjoining picnic table and trash can will complete the overlook. Mine
employees will manage the site. The plan has been discussed with both the United States Forest
Service and Ouray County, and has been well received. The area is adjacent to the current
aggregate stockpile for County road use and a one way road already leads to the area.
Please let us know if the DRMS has any concerns regarding the Revenue-Virginius Mine
Information Center. OSMI hopes that this effort will provide give people a safe and educational
place to stop and view the mine.
Sincerely.
(Qa q al
Clinton L. Fletcher
President.
