Page i of 3
Jim Helmericks
From: "Debby& Nathan Barton,WASTELINE. Inc." <SDLibert_y@aol.com>
Date: Monday, March 14, 2016'._44 AM
To: "Jim"<durangogravel@frontier.net> RECEIVED
Subject: Letter in body of message
Dear Mr. Waldron : MAR 17 2016
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
Subject: Request for Increase in Financial
Warranty and Reclamation Cost Estimate
I received a copy via e-mail of the new
calculation of reclamation costs for M1985-001,
the 3 & ] Pit, in La Plata County, together with a
request to provide the increased financial
warranty, sent to me by Mr, Lucas West. This
letter is my formal request to discuss the
increased estimate, which is significant, and to
state my intent to provide additional information
which should significantly reduce the amount
requested .
I do wish to point out a number of concerns
which impact on this review and discussion.
The permit as approved by the MLRB was for a
I : I or 1/2: 1 reclamation slope, as stated in the
original application. Those slopes, though
steeper than normal practice, do match the
existing undisturbed slopes in the vicinity, were
demonstrated to be stable, and are a part of the
planned post-mining use as industrial, by
maximizing the space available on the property
for that use. I believe that Mr. West
misunderstood the information in the file, and
that further discussion can clarify this matter.
3/14/2016
