Quality Assurance <br /> A. All work shall be monitored and tested in compliance with the requirements of the CQA <br /> Plan. <br /> B. CONTRACTOR shall be aware of all testing activities outlined in the CQA Plan, and shall <br /> account for these activities in the construction schedule. <br /> C. All CQA soils testing (both field and laboratory testing) will be the responsibility of <br /> CERTIFYING ENGINEER, as identified in the Earthworks CQA plan. CONTRACTOR shall be <br /> responsible for cooperating with CQA Monitor during all testing activities. CONTRACTOR <br /> shall provide equipment and labor to assist CQA Monitor in sampling, if requested, and <br /> shall also provide access to all areas requiring testing activities. Quality Control testing <br /> shall be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. <br /> D. All excavation, backfill, and grading operations shall be carried out under the <br /> observation of MANAGER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br /> E. Any work found unsatisfactory or any work disturbed by subsequent operations before <br /> acceptance is granted shall be corrected by CONTRACTOR, at its sole cost. <br /> 2. PART 2: PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1. Materials <br /> A. Fill materials will be soils, gravels, or rock fill approved by MANAGER and CERTIFYING <br /> ENGINEER. The materials shall be free of organic matter, debris, frozen material, and <br /> other deleterious materials, and shall be excavated, as required, as follows: <br /> 1. Structural Fill - material as approved by MANAGER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER <br /> conforming to the following SPECIFICATION: <br /> U.S.Standard Percent Passing <br /> Sieve Size by Dry Weight <br /> 24—inch 100 <br /> No.200 0—2S <br /> Plasticity Index: 30 maximum <br /> 2. Select Structural Fill - well graded granular soil or sound, hard, durable, rockfill <br /> excavated on-site or supplied from off-site mine waste rock with a maximum <br /> particle size of 3 inches as approved by MANAGER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br /> Page 2 <br />
