C. Project Description. Describe all aspects of the operation including mining, milling, and exploration methods, materials,
equipment workforce, construction and operation schedule, power requirements, how clearing will be accomplished, topsoil
stockpile, waste rock placement, tailings disposal, proposed number of daltholes and depth. depth of proposed suction
dredging. and how gravels will be replaced, etc. Calculate production rates of ore include justification and calculations for
settling pond capacities, and the size of runoff diversion channels.
Exploration and mining will occur for 180 days or less per season using mechanized equipment and hand tools.
Clearing, if necessary will be accomplished with chainsaws or backhoe/excavator. (Much of the area within the
two one acre proposed dig sites is bare or has dead timber from the Hayman fire.) Backhoe/excavator will be
used to expose pegmatite structures which will then be excavated with hand tools. Topsoil will be stockpiled for
later reclamation. Waste rock, tailings and slash will be stockpiled until seasonal (or final)reclamation and used
to backfill open pits or trenches.
D. Equipment and Vehicles. Describe that which is proposed for use in your operation(Examples.drill.dozer wash plant, mill, etc) include
sizes,capacity.frequency of use.etc.
Personal vehicles will be used to access the one acre mining sites. Excavation equipment will consist of a
Case 580M loader backhoe or a 25 ton excavator. Backhoe or trackhoe will be used for initial clearing and to
cut pits and trenches to expose pegmatite minerals. Mineral pockets will be excavated using hand tools. After
open pits/trenches are exhausted (or for seasonal reclamation,)backhoe/trackhoe will be used to backfill
excavations. Equipment will be used for 180 days or less per mining season.
E. Structures. include information about fixed or portable structures or facilities planned for the operation. Show locations on the
map. Include such things as living quarters, storage sheds, mill buildings, thickener tanks, fuel storage.powder magazines,
pipelines, water diversions.trailers, sanitation facilities including sewage disposal.etc. Include engineering design and geotechnical
information for project facilities, justification and calculations for sizing of tanks, pipelines and water diversions, etc.
No fixed structures will be constructed at one acre dig sites. Portable structures will include a backcountry
portable toilet and a portable canopy for sun/rain protection near dig site. Portable structures will remain on
site for 180 days or less per season. Refuse bags from backcountry toilet will be disposed of off site.
V. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION MEASURES(SEE 36 CFR 228.8)
A. Air Quality. Describe measures proposed to minimize impacts on air quality such as obtaining a burning permit for slash disposal
or dust abatement on roads
Air quality is not predicted to be an issue at either site. if dry conditions or winds create blowing dust, slash
or shredded slash will be used for dust abatement on exposed soils. Any tailings piles remaining after
seasonal reclamation will be seeded with approved native seed mix to prevent erosion or blowing dust.
(If more space is needed ro fill our a hltxk of information, else additional sheets and attach form)
-3-
