management objectives, control priorities and IWM plans, thereby starting the cycle again. The
premise behind this plan is that a structured, logical approach to weed management, based on the
best available information, is cheaper and more effective than an ad-hoc approach where one deals
with weed problems as they arise.
2. Description of the Property
A. Location
The Pueblo County Aggregate Project (PCAP) is a gravel mine on CO State Land Board and
private property in eastern Pueblo County (Figure 1). The site is approximately 1471 acres in
portions Sections 19 and 30 Township 21 South, Range 52 West and Sections 24 and 25, Township 21 South,
Range 53 West, beh P.M. in Pueblo County, Colorado. The site is south of Olson Road and east of 441"
Lane.
Site boundaries are delineated on ARMS Exhibit F Reclamation Plan (Figure 2).
B. Resource Base
The PCAP boundaries encompasses Badger Hills, four mesas that are currently used for
cattle grazing and a gravel mine used by the Bessemer Irrigating Ditch Company. Final reclamation
will be rangeland to improve land productivity for cattle grazing. The disturbed areas will be
reclaimed in accordance with the recommended plan (DRMS application Exhibit F) from Mr. Richard
Rhoades of the SE Soil Conservation District in Pueblo, CO.
3. Inventory of Weed Species
A. Inventory of Weed Species
Representatives from the Turkey Creek Conservation District (TCCD) performed a site
inspection on September 18, 2012 TCCD's website includes a list of noxious weed species currently
found in Pueblo County (Table 1). At the time of the inspection, no State -listed noxious plant
species were observed.
B. Map of Weed Infestations
The estimated permit boundary is attached as Figure 2. Existing vegetation is minimal and
stressed due to cattle grazing and recent droughts. There are currently no weed infestation areas.
