under COC -54608 for Sections 21, 22, and 23, T5N, R86W in conjunction with mining plans for the Wolf Creek
Reserve. TC filed a Lease Modification application for the coal reserves contained in the Wolf Creek Coal Seam in
portions of Sections 21 and 22, T5N, R86W, which was approved by the BLM and was issued and became
effective on April 1, 2016, and will be filing a Lease by Application for the remainder of these federal reserves
(portions of Sections 22 and 23) during 2016.
Maps 23A, WC23, and WC23A identify previously mined areas, and delineate active and planned future mining
areas at a more detailed scale. Evaluations of projected subsidence and related effects, initially based on subsidence
modeling, and subsequently confirmed by actual mining and subsidence monitoring experience, indicate that
subsidence would not significantly impact the designated AVF or related environmental values. For actual and
potentially impacted portions of the designated Fish Creek AVF, the subsidence evaluation approach and
conclusions are documented by Exhibits 713, 7C, 7K, 45, and 46 and by appropriate revisions to Exhibit 14.
The subsidence monitoring network for the longwall areas is shown on Maps 23A and WC23. Mapped subsidence
survey lines include the supplemental monitoring stations to be established for evaluation of potential subsidence
impacts in the effected portion of the designated Fish Creek AVF.
SOUTHWESTERN MINING DISTRICT
TC, through the acquisition of the un -leased federal coal reserves located in the SWMD, added additional
recoverable reserves to its existing mine plan. Tile SWMD lease application was submitted to the BLM on January
27, 1992, and was subsequently approved.
The lease application area is located in the N 1/2 of Section 36, T5N, R87W, and the W/2NR/4 and the NW/4 of
Section 31, T5N, R86W. The lease application comprises approximately 537 acres. The surface of this coal is
controlled by three different landowners, TC, Robert Perry, and Robert Perry et al.
TC extended the 2- and 3 -Southwest Panels to the west. The 2 -Southwest Panel was extended approximately 300
feet to the west and the 3 -Southwest Panel was extended approximately 700 feet to the west. The modified mine
projections are shown on Maps 23 and 23A, Mine Plan. The panel extensions allowed for the recovery of
additional reserves in the newly acquired federal lease.
