This report includes data from the C. Pit ponded water and related groundwater monitoring for the fourth
quarter of 2015, covering the reporting period April 12o16 to June 30, 2o16. Table 1 presents data for the last four
quarters.
For the second quarter compliance monitoring, water samples were collected on May 16, 2016 from CEM-oo1
groundwater monitoring well and from the C- Pit ponded water, and CEM 004. The initial inspection of groundwater
monitoring well CEM 005 on May 16, 2o16, and the follow up inspection (Table 1) indicated that there was not enough
volume of water to collect a representative sample.
The samples collected from C- Pit ponded water and groundwater wells were analyzed for pH, chloride, sulfate, total
dissolved solids, selenium, and thallium. The reported pH data is based on the pH analysis performed at the time of
sample collection in the field (Table 1). The measured pH at CEM -004 and analytical results for chloride, sulfate, total
dissolved solids (TDS), selenium and thallium from the May 16, 2o16 sample were within the target levels prescribed by
TR -12 as shown in Table 1.
In addition, a Stiff Diagram of the groundwater cation/anion data from CEM 004 compared to 9o% of the average
cationlanion concentration in C -Pit is provided in Figure 1 for reference. As shown in Figure 1, the cation/anion signature
for CEM -004 continues to be distinctly different from C- Pit, indicating there is no evidence of C -pit leakage into the
groundwater represented by well CEM -004.
Figure 1: Second Quarter Cation/Anion data for CEM -004 compared to the
TR -12 C -Pit Monitoring and Trigger Parameters.
3
oC=_....,
Ca$Gkarr
elearbonete
las CaCO3j
Magnesium
Carbonate
Paasakr
Chlo.kie
$AW 4ie1
Suvaw
3
