RECEIVED
JUN 13 2016
Wednesday,June 08,2016
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MININGAND SAFETY
Michael Cunningham, Inspector and Division of Reclamation Board,
Reference: Colorado Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety Minerals Program Inspection Report for
Bates-Hunter Mine—USPS post marked May 25,2016.
In reviewing your inspection and pictures, I have corrected the following:
1. Unlabeled 55 gallon drums of grease have been moved into the room inside the Hoist/Office
Building. Content is nothing more than lubricant needed in our mining operation.
2. The Chloride drum was moved into the Water House Building. As it is the chemical to correct
the PH of the water coming from the mine.
3. Oil storage barrels, MSHSHA required us to build a berm around the barrels and align it as is. If
your ruling overrides MSHSHA,let me know and I'll move them as designated.
4. Not completed yet.
5. Not completed yet.
The period of time you gave me to do all this under my condition is damn near impossible to do. An
extension of 60 days would be appreciated.
Bates-Hunter is still in-active. The reason for not answering sooner than this date is that I have been
incapacitated since the first week of November 2015 to March 15,2016 due to a heart stroke. I intent
to continue operation soon, if I can now find people interested in leasing the said property. 1 will notify
you of that date. I know that the Temporary Cessation has expired and I am going to ask that you
extend it for an additional five years. Your approval would be greatly appreciated.
George E Otten
Central City Consolidated Mining Company
CC: Colorado Division of Reclamation Board
