Newmont Mining Corporation ■ <br /> Cripple Creek&Victor Gold Mine . <br /> Squaw Gulch VLF CQA <br /> NewFields Job No.475.0106.006 <br /> Week Ending Saturday,June 11,2016 <br /> 1.0 EARTHWORKS <br /> 1.1 Underground Working Remediation <br /> > A new working (UG#6696) was discovered outside of the facility limits on Ames' haul <br /> road to the drain cover fill stockpile. Upon investigation the road was re-routed and has <br /> no impact on the SG VLF footprint. No further remediation is required. <br /> Confirmatory drilling was performed to a depth of 50-feet at the upper Anaconda Mine <br /> Complex and UG#6696. NewFields personnel observed drilling activities and noted any <br /> voids that were encountered. Further remediation is required. <br /> 1.2 Structural Fill <br /> Structural Fill placement continued within the Squaw Gulch VLF Phase 2 footprint. NewFields <br /> personnel inspected fill material and observed placement and compaction procedures to <br /> ensure that they were in accordance with the project technical specifications. Ambient <br /> temperatures remained above 32 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the shift. The following <br /> structural fill construction activities occurred during the shift: <br /> > Fill Placement (hauled from Low Volume Reject Stockpile) in areas bounded by bench <br /> stations: <br /> o M42+00 to M44+00 and 548+00 to 551+00 <br /> Slope contouring (cut to fill) in areas bounded by bench stations: <br /> o M32+00 to M35+00 and 535+00 to 541+00 <br /> Compaction was achieved using a smooth drum roller. <br /> 1.3 Subgrade <br /> Subgrade was approved for SLF placement within the Phase 1 footprint. The subgrade was <br /> accepted up to the 9850 bench above Stations HMO+00 to HM12+00. Figure 1 shows the <br /> subgrade acceptance areas. <br /> 1.4 Leak Detection Trench <br /> No work performed during this reporting period. <br /> 1.5 Soil Liner Fill (SLF) <br /> Soil Liner Fill processing continued at the Dump 1 processing plant. Approximately 145,237 dry <br /> tons of material has been processed as of Saturday,June 11, 2016. <br /> Page 2 <br />
