Map 2.05.3(4)-1 omits a legend item corresponding to the ditches flowing to the sediment ponds.
Please resubmit this map with the following additional information:
a. add ditch symbology to legend
b. call out the associated ditch labels.
Rule: 4.05.6 Sediment Ponds
This is a review of rules 4.05.6(1-7) associated with sediment pond design, construction and maintenance.
Sediment Pond designs are found in Permit Section 2.05.3(4) associated maps; 2.05.3(4)-6,7,9, and 10, and
appendices 2.05.3(4)-7, 8 that include SEDCAD model results.
This section of the rules is adequately addressed with the exception of:
♦ DRMS refrained from verifying SEDCAD model results due to the lack of an appropriate map indicating
the spatial relationships between ditches, culverts, and ponds and associated culvert sizes.
25. Please see adequacy questions #10 and #11 above for, further details.
Rule: 4.05.7 Dischar;; a Structures
This is a review of rules 4.05.7 associated with discharge from sediment control structures and other treatment
facilities.
Permit Appendices 2.05.3(4)-7, 2.05.3(4)-8, and 2.05.3(4)-10, associated figures and tables, maps 2.05.3(4)-6,
(4)-7, (4)-9 and (4)-10, discuss the as built designs and present the SEDCAD model results for, ponds and ditches.
Ditches and ponds are designed to safely pass the flows from a 10 year 24 hour event as per this rule and in some
cases are overdesigned.
This section of the rules is adequately addressed in the permit.
Rule: 4.05.9 Impoundments (1-21)
This is a review of rules 4.05.9(1-17) associated with design, construction and maintenance of impoundments.
Sediment ponds are meant for, temporary impoundment of water before discharge in order to meet State and
Federal effluent standards.
New Horizon North Permit Revision PR1 Prepared by: R.
