Mine Roads — Most of the existing mine road network originally established in support of the previous <br />surface mining activities has been retained. <br />• Drainage and Sediment Control Structures — With the exception of those structures associated with the <br />bond -released areas, the drainage and sediment control network originally established to control drainage <br />for the previous surface mining operations has been retained and supplemented to address ongoing drainage <br />and sediment control requirements for the continuing underground operations. <br />E <br />The structures, facilities and disturbance areas addressed under the Rule 2.06.7 variance are shown on the <br />Reclamation Map, Map 29. <br />Rule 2.06.8 - Surface Coal Mining and Reclamation Operations on Areas or Adiacent to Areas, Including <br />Alluvial Vallev Floors <br />(I) Scope. 2.06.8 applies to each person who conducts or intends to conduct surface coal mining and <br />reclamation operations in. adjacent to or under a valley holding a stream. <br />(2) No person shall engage in surface coal mining and reclamation operations subject to 2.06.8, except <br />under a permit issued by the Division or Board in accordance with 2.06.8. <br />(3) Alluvial Valley Floor Determination <br />(a) Any person who proposes to engage in surface coal mining operations, may, prior to making an <br />application for a permit. request in writing that the Board give an informal opinion on whether or not <br />TR06-52 2.06-4.1 02/17/06 <br />
