PERMIT#: M-1980-012
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: MAC
INSPECTION DATE: May 31, 2016
OBSERVATIONS
The inspection was conducted by Michael Cunningham of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
(Division). Tammie Crawford of Park County was also present for the inspection. The site is located in Park
County approximately 1.5 miles northwest of Fairplay, alongside State Highway 9. The commodity of interest
is sand and gravel. The site is permitted for 7.8 acres and the post-mining land use is rangeland.
Gen. Compliance With Mine Plan:
The site was not active at the time of the inspection and no equipment was present. The Operator is approved
to operate intermittently. According to the Operator, no further mining will occur at this site and reclamation
of the site will commence. There are several historic dredge piles located on the site and they have been
clearly labeled and outlined on the Mining Plan Map. The Operator has not affected the historic dredge piles
and is not required to reclaim them. In addition, there are several small topsoil stockpiles present. The
Operator will need to replace the topsoil on the pit floor and seed the site with the approved seed mix. Some
minor grading may be required, including removal of a small berm used to control stormwater runoff.
Signs and Markers:
The permit sign was posted at the site entrance and the boundary of the affected area was delineated as
required by Rule 3.1.12.
No problems were noted during the inspection. This concluded the inspection.
