PERMIT#: M-1980-012 <br /> INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: MAC <br /> INSPECTION DATE: May 31, 2016 <br /> OBSERVATIONS <br /> The inspection was conducted by Michael Cunningham of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br /> (Division). Tammie Crawford of Park County was also present for the inspection. The site is located in Park <br /> County approximately 1.5 miles northwest of Fairplay, alongside State Highway 9. The commodity of interest <br /> is sand and gravel. The site is permitted for 7.8 acres and the post-mining land use is rangeland. <br /> Gen. Compliance With Mine Plan: <br /> The site was not active at the time of the inspection and no equipment was present. The Operator is approved <br /> to operate intermittently. According to the Operator, no further mining will occur at this site and reclamation <br /> of the site will commence. There are several historic dredge piles located on the site and they have been <br /> clearly labeled and outlined on the Mining Plan Map. The Operator has not affected the historic dredge piles <br /> and is not required to reclaim them. In addition, there are several small topsoil stockpiles present.The <br /> Operator will need to replace the topsoil on the pit floor and seed the site with the approved seed mix. Some <br /> minor grading may be required, including removal of a small berm used to control stormwater runoff. <br /> Signs and Markers: <br /> The permit sign was posted at the site entrance and the boundary of the affected area was delineated as <br /> required by Rule 3.1.12. <br /> No problems were noted during the inspection.
