The decision date for this Technical
Revision is June 13, 2016. The Division has reviewed the proposed revision and has the
following comments:
1. The Technical Revision was submitted in order to comply with a problem cited during an
inspection conducted on January 21, 2016. The Division did not have copies of the Mining
and Reclamation Plan Maps which conformed to the requirements of Rule 6.2.1(2), 6.3.5(2)
and 6.3.5(3). The Operator was required to submit revised copies of the Mining and
Reclamation Plan Maps. The submittal included two maps, which appeared to be the original
Mining Plan Map along with a copy of the revised Mining Plan Map. Please submit a copy of
the Reclamation Plan Map.
The Reclamation Plan Map must provide the following information:
a) Show the gradient of all reclaimed slopes (horizontal:vertical) sufficient to describe
the post-mine topography.
b) Indicate areas where revegetation will not be established and the general area(s) for
shrub and or tree planting.
c) State the average thickness of replaced overburden.
d) State the average thickness of replaced topsoil.
2. The revised Mining Plan Map does not contain a labeled permit boundary. It appears the
labeled claim boundary depicts the 1 acre permit boundary. Please revise the Mining Plan
Map to include a labeled permit boundary.
3. The Mining Plan Map contains labels which appear to denote the gradient of the slopes.
However, the labels do not appear to follow the typical convention for slope gradients. Slope
gradient is commonly expressed as a ratio of horizontal distance to vertical rise (H:V).
