To: Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
From: Randy Schafer /20,
40586 Co. Rd. 21
Haxtun, CO 80731
970-774-6264(Home),970-520-0502 (Cell), 970-854-3778 (Fax)
Consultant for Tim Carper
Tim Carper
Owner/Operator of Carper Pit#2 (M-2008-072)
42538 Co. Rd.09
Haxtun,CO 80731
Date: May 30, 2016
RE: Technical Revision for Carper Pit#2 (M-2008-072)
On behalf of Tim Carper, owner and operator,we are proposing the following technical revision to the
Carper Pit#2(M-2008-072):
1) Carper Pit#2 is a total of 42.7 acres. The original mining plan was laid out in seven tracts. The
mining plan stipulated that as a new tract was opened, the Division would be notified of the
new area, and the necessary financial warranty would be posted before mining in the new area
would occur.
2) The technical revision proposes the same concept except that new areas to be mined might be
different sizes or shapes than originally proposed.
3) Mr. Carper is currently proposing to open a smaller,2-acre area. A map is attached showing the
proposed 2-acre area.
4) Mr.Carper still acknowledges that when any new tract or phase is opened, regardless of size or
position in the pit, that the Division will be notified, the area staked, and a new financial
warranty calculated and required.
5) All mining an reclamation would still be performed as originally proposed.
A check for$216 is enclosed. Please let me know if any additional information is needed to complete
the technical revision.
