PERMIT #: M-2007-067 <br />INSPECTOR’S INITIALS: ACY <br />INSPECTION DATE: May 12, 2016 <br /> <br /> <br />Page 2 of 6 <br /> <br />OBSERVATIONS <br /> <br />This inspection was conducted as part of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety normal <br />monitoring program. The Circle Dot Quarry is a 110c permitted site that includes a total of 9.11. It is located <br />approximately 10 miles northwest of Parachute, CO and is accessed from the Gardner Gulch Extension Road. <br />Staff met Dustin Snow at the Marathon Oil Company office in Parachute for a safety orientation. Then <br />proceeded to access the site via De Beque, CO and the Logan Wash Road. Once on location E rik Fuller <br />represented Marathon Oil Company and accompanied Amy Yeldell of the Division on the inspection. <br /> <br />The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule <br />3.1.12. The sign is located at the entrance of the permit boundary on a locked gate. The permit boundary is <br />delineated by t-posts. <br /> <br />This site is currently inactive and was approved for temporary cessation (TC) on October 16, 2013. Division <br />Staff discussed with the operator the terms of the 5 year initial TC period and gave options moving forwards. <br />At the end of the current 5 year period the operator shall, resume activity, being final reclamation or request <br />an additional 5 year period of TC from the Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br /> <br />Several stockpiles of varying sizes were observed. They all appear to be stable and generally sloped 2:1. No <br />equipment, fuel or structures were observed. <br /> <br />The site is scheduled for a bare ground treatment once weather conditions allow. Little to no weeds were <br />observed. Stockpiles were vegetation free. Topsoil and overburden piles have been stabilized with vegetation. <br /> <br />The site had adequate stormwater BMPs in place. Both berms and sediment ponds were utilized effectively. <br />No erosion or other stormwater issues were observed. <br /> <br />Currently the Division holds a reclamation bond of $20,676 for this site. <br /> <br />It is noted that the contact information for this site is out of date. At your earliest convince please update this <br />information by sending a letter to the Denver office. Please note that separate contacts can be designated for <br />inspections, permitting, operator, etc. <br /> <br />The site appears to be well maintained and clean.
