and used in the work, such as, but not limited to; concrete forms, form ties,
expansion joint material, sealants, curing compounds, concrete additives,
embedded items, concrete protective coatings, and any manufactured items
used in the work.
2. The Contractor shall provide confirmation specifications or mill reports for
steel reinforcement and fabricated embedded items.
C. Concrete Mix Design
1. Prior to placing concrete, the Contractor shall submit to the Engineer and
t Owner a written request for acceptance of the concrete materials and the

concrete mix designs proposed for use. This submittal shall include the
results of all testing performed to qualify the materials and to establish the
y mix design is in accordance with American Concrete Institute (ACI) 301,
Section 4. The data submitted shall also include certification that all
E9 material proposed for use in the concrete meets the specified requirements
t and all test results, Manufacturer's certification and/or analyses which are
the basis of this certification. No concrete shall be placed until the
Contractor has received such acceptance in writing from the Engineer or
is Owner.
2. The Contractor shall submit to the owner printed recommendations from
the Manufacturer of concrete admixtures. The recommendations shall state
the quantity and mixing requirements of the additives per cubic yard for
each class of concrete specified herein.

D. Fabricated Item Shop Details
F 1. Reinforcing Steel: Prior to fabrication or shipment of reinforcing steel and
.. accessories, the Contractor shall submit to the Owner and Engineer, and
receive approval of shop drawings by Engineer or Owner. Shop drawings
shall indicate bending diagrams, assembly diagrams, splicing and lapping
C--- of rods, shapes, dimensions and details of bar reinforcements and
accessories. Shop drawings shall show all openings and penetrations that
pass through concrete construction. Drawings and details shall conform to
ACI 315 and ACI 318. The approval of shop drawings shall be for
conformance to the design intent and shall not relieve the Contractor of
responsibility for errors,omissions or the accuracy of his own dimensions.
