PERMIT #: P-2016-007
INSPECTOR’S INITIALS: THM
INSPECTION DATE: May 11, 2016

OBSERVATIONS
This partial inspection was conducted by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) in
response to a Notice of Intent to prospect submitted by Kinross Gold U.S.A. Inc. on April 19, 2016. The
proposed prospecting project is located approximately 2.5 miles south east of Lake City Colorado at an
elevation of approximately 10,400 feet. Jeff Cary was present during the inspection.

The proposed drilling project is on BLM and private land within LKA Gold Inc. and Kinross Gold U.S.A. Inc.
claims. The project proposes to use up to 12 drilling locations with the possibility of drilling up to 12 core holes
approximately 1,000 feet in length. The project also proposes to build 3,705 foot by 20 foot access road. The
total proposed project disturbance is 2.39 acres.

The proposed Plugging and Abandonment for the core holes is the use of sodium bentonite gel with a 10 foot
thick cement plug to cap the hole. All drill pads will be re-contoured to match the existing topography. The
access roads will be rough graded and seeded.

The project is located in a mix of aspen and pine forest with local meadows containing various grasses and
shrubs. The area is considered to be Lynx habitat therefore the operator is required to submit a Plan of
Operation as a requirement of the BLM. The current deadline for the DRMS to approve or deny the proposed
NOI is July 27, 2016.

No problems or possible violations were observed during the inspection.

Photos of the conditions observed during the inspection are located at the end of this inspection report.

If you need more information regarding this inspection report please contact Travis Marshall in the DRMS
Grand Junction Field Office at (970) 241-2042.
