PERMIT # M-77-D2D
OCTOBER 1999
Exhibit D MINING PLAN
Unless specifically discussed below the methods described in
the 1980 and 1997 mining plans and methods will remain unchanged.
Existing sloping, grading and shaping plans will apply to the new
area since it is similar to the area now in the permit. We
currently have well permits on each existing lake area. we will
file a well permit for the new lake area prior to commencing
mining on that area.
This amendment adds 10.00 acres f on the north side of the
existing permit area. Review of Map Exhibit C(revieod 10-99) shows
the location and relationship of this added area and the existing
permit boundary. The setbacks from the property lines and river
will be consistent with those approved at this time. On the
east, and south sides the a 25 foot mining setback will be
maintained, while along the river we will setback 50 feet from
the river bank.
As mining ends on the Black property south of the new area
we will begin to strip the southern end of this area. Mining
will begin by excavating a hole along the south side until a
dewatering pump can be installed. This area will be expanded
until the bottom of the gravel is reached creating the floor of
the lake. Mining will the progress out from this point to the
north around Loughrey's house.
As was found on the existing mine area very little topsoil
exists on the site. This area has been inundated with flood
water over the years so little topsoil is left. Any we encounter
will be stockpiles along the perimeter of the site for use in
reclamation. Mining will progress from south to north across
this parcel until all the gravel is removed. Mining will then
move to the west parcel as described in the 1997 amendment.
We have been approached by the natural gas company about
eventually removing the 2 inch line that separates the three
properties. If this is done it would be practical to remove the
lake separations creating one large lake. There are a couple of
inherent problems with this; one is the conflict that may result
between landowners over sharing the use of the entire lake; the
other is the property line delineations if a conflict arises in
the future. We are currently working with Black's and Loughrey's
to see if these issues can be overcome. If we can reach agree-
ments between the landowners and remove the gasline we will mine
the separations using the methods described in our permit. Map
Exhibit F(ravieod 10-99) contains an inset picture of how the slopes
would look with the separations removed. We will file a Techni-
cal Revision prior to removing the separators, but felt notifying
5
