May 10, 2016
Mr. Eric Scott
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Colorado Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver,CO 80203
RE: Mining permit M-1998-043—Technical Revision for Final Reclaimed Site Conditions
Dear Mr. Scott:
Thank you for your continued efforts in working with us to reach closeout on this permit. Peter Hays
from your office inspected the CR 20.5 site on July 31,2012 and his findings were documented in the
associated inspection report. Also, our engineer,Carrie Herbolsheimer with Applegate Group has been
in contact with you about the status of this permit and the required steps to achieve permit close out.
It is our understanding that the outstanding items remaining for this site are vegetation establishment,
weed control, and documentation that the stockpiles and buildings onsite will remain on the property as
part of the reclaimed site.
The remaining stockpiles are currently as follows: two stockpiles with approximately 5000 ton of top
soil, one stock pile of sand with approximately 75 ton,one stock pile of 1-1/2 Rock with approximately
100 ton,one stock pile of#4 minus rock with approximately 100 ton. This material has been reserved
for our sole use and will not be removed from the site or sold.
In addition, Mr. Hays' inspection report indicates that there are several buildings onsite which are not
part of the approved reclamation plan. These buildings belong to the property to the west of the
permitted area. These buildings are used by the owner and will remain in place after the mining permit
has been closed out.
At this time,we feel that the vegetation onsite has been fully established and weeds are under control.
We respectfully request a final site inspection with you to confirm that the site meets final reclamation
requirements.
Also enclosed is the Request for technical revision (TR)cover sheet along with the fee of$216. In order
to request a reduction in our bond amount. If possible, Eric,we would appreciate your assistance in
getting this bond reduced.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience to schedule a meeting.Thank you very much for your
help with this matter.
Regards,
ill rgaret Kobobel
1
