Box 483 <br />Paonia, CO 81428 <br />RE: Bowie No. 2 Mine (Permit No. C-1996-083) <br />2015 Subsidence Report Review (11t Half and 2nd Half 2015) <br />Dear Mr. Bear, <br />The Division has completed its review of the above referenced reports received on 14 July 2015 <br />and 27 January 2016 via email. The Division finds the 2015 Bi -Annual (1st Half 2015 and 2nd <br />Half 2015) Subsidence Reports fulfills the 2015 requirement to file a bi-annual report <br />detailing the results of the subsidence monitoring programs and the results of the visual <br />inspections of known modern and historic landslides within the permit and adjacent area for <br />stability in June and December of each year. The Division has the following comments: <br />1st Half 2015 <br />1. Based on a visual inspection of all known hisoric and modern landslides, no new cracks <br />were observed over panel B-16 or within the location of the initation of panel B-17. <br />2. During the 111 half of 2015 pond and spring 19 was potentially impacted by the mining <br />in Panel B-16 and Pond and Spring 5-1 was ptentially impacted by mining in Panel B-17. <br />Based on observations, no influence to any monitoring point was impacted during the <br />period. <br />3. Subsidence monitoring stations at both the Pitkin Mesa Pipeline and the Terror Creek <br />transmission line tower surveyed during the reporting period identified no significant <br />change to any location; with the exception of Stations PL -11 and PL- 12 with showed <br />changes of -0.30' and -0.11' for the period respectively. <br />2nd Half 2015 <br />1. Based on a visual inspection of all known hisoric and modern landslides, one new crack <br />was observed over panel B-17 identified as site 15-01. The crack was identified as 1 " <br />wide and 20' long.
