The golden eagle nest appears to be inactive this year, and therefore, is not an
issue for the haul road and resulting disturbances. I recommend that CPW monitors the site again next
year to determine if the eagles return .
The burrowing owl protocol recommends a buffer distance of 150 ft, that will need adherence to ensure
the success of nesting owls.
I have attached a revised comment letter and the burrowing owl protocol.
Thank you, please feel free to contact us if further clarification is needed,
Gretchen Holschuh#023
District Wildlife Manager Pueblo West
719-250-9089
COLORADO
Co ' - Parks and Wildlife
From: O'Donnell -DNR, Tyler<tyler.odonnell@state.co.us>
Date: Fri, Apr 8, 2016 at 3:12 PM
Subject: M2016009 44th Lane Project
To: Mike Trujillo - DNR<mikel.trujillo@state.co.us>
[Quoted text hidden]
Michael Trujillo
Area Wildlife Manager
Area 11
' COLORADO
CO Parks and Wildlife
P 719.561.5303 I F 719.561.5321 I C 719.252.2311
600 Reservoir Road, Pueblo, CO 81005
