Total herbaceous production in the BRB-3 in 2015 was 11336.5 pounds per acre, all of which was <br />allowable herbaceous production. Of this, 742.3 pounds were native perennial cool season grasses, <br />324.6 pounds were introduced perennial forbs, 96.4 pounds were introduced perennial cool season <br />grasses, 71.4 pounds were native perennial forbs, 67.8 pounds were introduced annual and biennial <br />forbs. Two other lifeforms, native annual and biennial forbs and introduced annual grasses, were <br />present, each comprising less than 15 pounds per acre. <br />WOODY PLANT DENSITY <br />"Background" Density <br />(Table A-3) <br />Total average "Background" woody plant density in the BRB-3 in 2015 was 1939.5 stems per acre, <br />comprised of native shrubs (1916.2 stems per acre) and native trees (23.3 stems per acre). Big <br />sagebrush was the densest native shrub species at 1387.1 stems per acre followed by mountain <br />snowberry (Symphoricarpos rotundifolius) with 292.4 stems per acre, golden currant (Ribes aureum) with <br />80.9 stems per acre, and Wood's rose (Rosa woodsii) with 63.7 stems per acre. Seven other species of <br />native shrub were present, each with densities of fewer than 30 stems per acre. Native trees were <br />comprised entirely of box elder (Acer negundo). <br />Fenced Aspen "Concentration" Area Density <br />(Table A- 4) <br />Total average Fenced Aspen "Concentration" area woody plant density in the BRB-3 in 2015 was 2696.4 <br />stems per acre, comprised of native shrubs (2432.2 stems per acre) and native trees (264.3 stems per <br />acre). Mountain snowberry was the densest native shrub species at 797.2 stems per acre followed by big <br />sagebrush with 541.5 stems per acre, silver sagebrush (Artemisia cana) with 309.6 stems per acre, <br />Saskatoon serviceberry with 279.2 stems per acre, sandbar willow (Salix exigua) with 140.8 stems per <br />acre, bitterbrush (Purshia tridentate) with 130.7, and chokecherry with 124.6 stems per acre. Eight other <br />species of native shrub were present, each with densities of fewer than 40 stems per acre.
