k.)t
RPM,Inc. RECEIVED
IlAY 09 2016
May 4, 2016
(VISION OF RECLAMATION
Attn: Mr. Tim Cazier MINING AND SAFETY
Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety, Room 215
1313 Sherman St., Denver, CO 80203
Re: P 2014-016- Request to extend the weed control plan corrective action due date by 60 days
and approval to use Grazon P+D or Tordon 22K.
Dear Mr. Cazier:
Transit Mix Concrete Co. (Transit Mix)recently lost the services of Tuttle &Associates due to
Mr. Tuttle's passing away. Regulatory Permits Management, Inc. (RPM)has been retained by
Transit Mix. You should have received an email which authorizes RPM to represent Transit Mix
concerning its matters before the DRMS and Mind Land Reclamation Board.
In your April 12, 2016 inspection report for the P2014-016 prospecting site, you reported the
need to control common mullein. The current corrective action date is May 13, 2016. We
request the date be extended until July 13, 2016. The time extension will allow RPM, Inc.to
become sufficiently familiar with the site, prepare the weed control plan, and submit it for your
review/approval.
In the interim, we propose to treat the site with a Picloram based herbicide, such as Grazon P+D
or Tordon 22K, both recommended by the DRMS. According to the literature, it appears these
herbicides are of a low toxicity to wildlife and are selective to broadleaf plants. In addition, they
are restricted use. Therefore, they need to be applied by a licensed applicator.
We would appreciate your timely approval of the corrective action extension date and the interim
use of Grazon P+D or Tordon 22K.
Respectfully,
Bruce Humphries,RPM, Inc.
Consult for Transit Mix Concrete Co.
CC: Mr. Andre Laroche
444 E Costilla
Colorado Springs, CO 80903
RPM,Inc.,22151 E.Euclid PI.,Aurora,CO 80016 Phone:(303)854-7499 Email:hlhumphries2:gcomcast.net
