I think the government has to much control over our right to dig minerals. <br /> I hold a mineral claim in Teller county,the holder of the claim next to mine (Donald J Self) has filed <br /> an application for a hard rock/Metal Mining Limieted Impact(110) Reclamation Permit with the <br /> Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Bord. The proposed mine, the Double Eagle, is located in section <br /> 12, Township 12, Range 71. <br /> I have many reasons I object to this permit application. The top three being: (1)Since the holder of <br /> this claim has in the past been knowen to dig on the claims of others, I feel that if he has equipment <br /> on the ground, he would not hesitate to cross the line and dig on my claim. (The map he filed with <br /> his application includes my claim). (2) I feel that my access to my claim would be denied to me or my <br /> guests. (3)The area is home to endangered species, The Goss Hawk, and while hand digging has <br /> not disturbed them, I feel that equipment would. <br /> I could go on but these are the big 3, one other is, I have knowen the guy since we where in high <br /> school. At one time I concidered him family, but over the years he has turned into a total ass, and <br /> treated me with total disrespect, and treated my claims as his own.
