Clayton Wein -4- <br />Rule 3.03 - Release of Performance Bonds <br />May 5, 2016 <br />14. Full Phase II Bond Release has been granted to the Coal Ridge Mine for the entire <br />disturbed area. This was approved through SL -02 on August 17, 2001. The mine site <br />was reseeded in 1994. Coal Ridge has met the minimum ten-year liability period for <br />seeking a full Phase III Bond Release. Please provide the Division with information <br />discussing plans for the Coal Ridge Mine and the potential timing for an <br />application for Phase III Bond Release. <br />CB - Current plans are to perform vegetation studies during 2017 and 2018. A final <br />bond release application would be submitted 2019. <br />Rule 4.15 - Revegetation <br />15. Revegetation information is located in Section 4 of the permit. The information in Section <br />4 is up to date. SL -02 granted full Phase II Bond Release of the entire disturbed area. <br />During recent inspections Diffuse Knapweed, Russian Knapweed and thistle were <br />spotted. Some of the weeds found were dead from the previous fall's weed spraying. <br />Please continue to follow the approved weed management plan outlined on P. 4- <br />60. <br />CB - Weed management will continue as outlined on page 4-60. <br />Please call with any questions. <br />Sincerely, <br />J.
