FUGRO CONSULTANTS, INC.
Lower resistivity zones exist at depth both east and west of these lines but there is not as strong of a connection
to the surface.
The subsurface lithology in this area consists essentially of horizontally layered sediments dipping N25E at a low
angle. The presence of a vertical anomaly in the data indicates that some mechanism has disrupted the
layering. A sinkhole or sinkhole like feature due to roof failure into the mine workings below is a possible cause
of the anomaly. It is unlikely that a large void is present at the location of the anomaly but a series of smaller
voids and/or fractured rock may be present which results in a vertical pathway for groundwater to flow. This
zone may intercept groundwater originating from precipitation or from the former stock pond which is migrating
to the northeast along the horizontal layering then diverting it downward, possibly to the mine workings.
The ERT survey cannot determine absolutely the cause of the anomaly identified in the data. The presence of
an isolated vertical anomaly in a horizontally layered geologic section is significant especially since the location
of the anomaly corresponds to sink hole like surface features.
Certification and Disclaimer
All geophysical data analysis, interpretations, conclusions, and recommendations in this document have been
prepared under the supervision of and reviewed by Fugro Consultants, Inc.
