r ORD
FUGRO CONSULTANTS, INC.
The surficial features at the site included sinkholes or ground depressions, underground drainage points along
the canal system, and a vertical air shaft associated with the mine. The main objective of the ERT survey was to
image to the mined coal seam at an approximate depth of 100 ft along each profile, while incrementing each of
the north -south oriented survey lines to the east in order to capture any potential surface anomaly that could
intersect the mine workings. Per a mine representative, approximately 10,000 gallons of water was poured into
the trench, which flowed into the subsurface through several sinkhole openings to help illuminate potential
pathways.
Figure 3 shows a backfilled sinkhole immediately west of the buried 8 inch non-metallic water line. A metal
marker post for the water line can be seen in the upper left side of the photo.
Project/Proposal No. 04.79160011 25 April, 2016 Page 3 of 6
