Reso ace, <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />26 April 2016 <br />To: Tom Bird, Manager of Coal Services <br />GCC Energy, LLC <br />4424 County Road 120 <br />Hesperus, Colorado 81326 <br />From: Robin Reilley, GISP, DRMS <br />RE: King Coal Mine; Permit: C-1981-044 <br />Technical Revision 20 Adequacy Review #4 <br />Dear Mr. Bird: <br />This submittal is in response to your letter of 28 December, 2015, "King Coal Mine <br />(C-1981-035) TR -20 - Adequacy Review #3" Response". <br />The original purpose of this technical revision was to allow the use of coal mine <br />waste from the King II mine to be placed along the west pre-SMRCA high -wall cut <br />at the King II mine. This material would be placed in such a way as to <br />approximate pre disturbance profiles of the west high -wall and help to lessen the <br />visual impact of the site. As mentioned, the site is pre -law, and GCC Energy is <br />under no obligation to construct this structure. <br />On June 9, 2015, GCC Energy received a letter from your office requesting <br />additional sampling and analysis of the existing refuse pile at the King I mine as <br />well as additional roof, coal and floor sampling and analysis of areas within and <br />adjacent to the King II mine. These concerns were originally addressed in our TR - <br />20 "Adequacy Review 2A (Supplemental) Response", submitted June 30, 2015. <br />That response has been reviewed by the Division and additional comments were <br />received from the Division by GCC Energy as TR -20, Adequacy Review #3.
