RECEIVSD
April 12th, 2016
APR 19 2010
Ms. Amy Eschberger DMSI®w OF REQAM,4f@
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety MIN11W 450Cff
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Paermit M-2016-010
Dear Ms. Eschberger,
This letter is in regards to Transit Mix Concrete Company's application to open a new
quarry on Hitch Rack Ranch near Colorado Springs, Colorado.
My home is located at the east end of Little Turkey Creek Road. I object to this quarry
proposal for the following reasons:
1. My family and I will have to live with unobstructed views of the quarry from our
home. Furthermore, this will have negative economic and aesthetic impacts when we
eventually decide to sell our property.
2. There are already three permitted quarries operating along Highway 115 that
are able to provide construction materials.
3. Transit Mix's proposal to open a quarry does not comply with El Paso County's
Southwest Highway 115 Development Plan.
4. It will terribly affect the local eco system and wildlife to live in the area and mi-
grate through the area.
5. It could affect our wells.
6. 1 live close to the Little Turkey Creek and Deadman's canyons and I and many
neighbors will suffer the effects of noise large quantities of dust. I have COPD.
Thanks for your consideration.
Yours truly,
V. —_ (/,t,
Ronald Blair
2945 Little Turkey Creek Road
Colorado Springs, CO 80926
(719) 494-9430
Copy to:
Congressman Doug Lamborn, U.S. House of Representatives, Colorado's Fifth District
