Page 2
4/14/2016
on the contour of the land it may be the case that ditches C-10 and D1W may not be required;
however, a discussion as to the prevention of disturbed area run-off from the west side of the
permit to Pond 013 was not included. Please provided a revised Map 2.05.3(3)-1 to include these
ditches or provide a revised Attachment 2.05.3(3)-1 providing a justification and noting that
these ditches are no longer required.
Tri-State March 21, 2016 Response: Attachment 2.05.3(3)-1 has been revised to include all
proposed ditches and culverts throughout the mine site and to reference other portions of the
PAP which include designs for ditches and culverts.
Division Response: Based on the March 21, 2016 submittal, the IP Tailwater Ditch 1 and the IP
Tailwater Ditch 2 are included with the Pond 009 design. According to Map 2.05.3(3)-1, these
two ditches flow to the proposed Pond 016. According to the submitted Table 2.05.3(3)-1 and
Attachment 2.05.3(3)-30 the design for Pond 009 includes the designs for the Taitwater ditches.
Additionally, Attachment 2.05.3(3)-29 includes the tailwater ditch as a part of the Pond 016
design. If it is the case that the Tailwater ditches are a function of the Pond 009 watershed
and not the Pond 016 watershed, please update the Map 2.05.3(3)-1 and Attachment
2.05.3(3)-29 to identify the tailwater ditches draining to the Pond 009 watershed.
