DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY
U.S. ARMY ENGINEER DISTRICT, SACRAMENTO
CORPS OF ENGINEERS
1325 J STREET
REPLY TO SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA 95614 -2922
ATTENTION OF December 6, 1996
Regulatory Branch (199675109)
Mr. Jim Stover
2768 Compass Drive, Suite 101
Grand Junction, Colorado 81506
Dear Mr. Stover:
We are responding to your written request dated November 22,
1996, for a wetland delineation verification for the Bowie Number
2 Mine. The property is located within Sections 9, 10, 11, 14,
15 and 16, Township 13 South, Ranee 91 WcuL, Delta County,
Colorado.
Based on a site inspection by Randy Snyder of this office on
November 22, 1996, we determined that your wetland boundary
delineation is accurate (with minor revisions). Those revisions
were made in the field during the site inspection. The plan
referenced below is an accurate depiction of the limits of
Federal jurisdiction under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
The plans are labeled:
Bowie No. 2 Mine
Vegetation Map
Dated October 4, 1995
This verification is valid for a period of five years from
the date of this letter and is based on information supplied by
your consultant. If that information proves to be false or
incorrect, we will adjust our determination accordingly. A
individual Department of the Army permit will be required prior
to the discharge or excavation of dredged or fill material into
waters of the United States, including wetlands. We have
enclosed a individual permit application for your use. We have
assigned number 199675109 to this determination. Please contact
Mr. Randy Snyder and refer to this number if you have any
questions regarding this matter and for permit requirements at
(970) 243 -1199 or the address below.
Sincerely,
'J
 (e I Jacobson
Ch Southwestern Colorado
Regulatory Office
402 Rood Avenue, Room 142
Grand Junction, Colorado 81501 -2563
