2.05.3
Coal Preparation Plant
The preparation plant is a structural steel building where coal and rock are
separated with heavy media circuits. The wash plant is a closed system, no water is
discharged. The structure is approximately 55 feet by 70 feet by 80 feet high. An
adjacent motor control center room is approximately 10 feet by 12 feet by 12 feet
high. An adjacent synfuel plant is approximately 35 feet by 10 feet by 25 feet high
and will be housed in a metal building. The synfuel plant has been removed. The
metal building remains in place.
Truck mounted filter press
A truck mounted filter press will remove the solids from the thickener underflow and
return the water back to the thickener. The solids will be returned to the wash plant
and then conveyed to the refuse bin. An 8'x 8'x 40' truck mounted filter press was
set adjacent to the preparation plant. The filter press will remained on the truck, no
permanent foundation were established. The filter press was removed late 2014.
Thickener
The thickener is a concrete structure where water is cleaned and returned to the
wash plant. The tank is approximately 70 feet in diameter and 10 feet high. The
reinforced concrete walls and floor are approximately 10 inches thick.
Refuse Bin
The refuse bin will be utilized to hold surges in refuse production from the wash
plant and will load refuse haul trucks. The refuse bin is constructed of structural
steel and is approximately 20 feet by 20 feet by 60 feet high. Two forty foot long
fender walls, 4 -foot high and 12- inches thick, are constructed on the north and south
sides under the refuse bin. Footers are constructed for the fender walls and two 12-
inch diameter pipe bollards.
Transfer Buildings
Two transfer buildings are associated with the wash plant. One transfers the plant
feed and the other transfers clean coal. Both are constructed of structural steel and
are 16 feet by 16 feet in plan view. The plant feed transfer building is 32 feet high.
The clean coal transfer building is 16 feet high.
Loadout Transfer Building
The loadout transfer building is a structural steel building where the reclaim belt
terminates. The coal transfers to the loadout conveyor. The dimensions of the
building are approximately 20 feet by 20 feet by 45 feet high.
MR -170 2.05-19- 01/15
