%1M
Non -Coal Waste Storaae
Non -coal waste will be stored at the portal levels. Three concrete walls will
be constructed to form the storage area. The walls will form a u- shape. The
storage area will be approximately 20 feet wide, 30 feet deep and the walls
will be 6 -feet high. Commercially available dumpsters may be used in lieu of
the concrete structures. Non -coal waste will also be stored in dumpsters
located in areas defined in 2.05.3(8).
Temporary Gob Piles
Gob will be periodically transported from the underground workings on the
mine conveyors. At the D -Seam portal transfer tower, gob is transferred to
the gob conveyor. The gob is stacked in a temporary gob pile which is
located near the transfer tower on the D -Seam. Gob from the B -Seam will
be transferred from the transfer tower via steel chute to a concrete gob bin.
The gob is then handled by front -end loader and trucks and transported to
the permanent gob disposal area. Certain conditions such as inclement
weather or severe winter conditions may preclude access to the permanent
gob pile for extended periods of time. Therefore, gob may be stored in the
temporary gob piles for up to 30 days. Up to 1500 tons may be stored in the
temporary gob piles at one time.
Gob Bin
Concrete structure, 15 feet wide, 30 feet long with 8 foot walls open on the
top and end for front end loader access. Located on B- Bench.
Rock Bin
Concrete structure located on the D- Bench. The structure has an 18 -inch
thick back wall that is 8 -feet high and 23 -feet wide. The 12 -inch thick side
walls are 7 -feet high and 15 -feet long. The 12 -inch thick floor is 23 -feet wide
and 16.5 -feet long. Constructed in 2014.
Rock Dust Storage Areas
The D -Seam portal bench and the B -Seam portal bench will have steel rock
dust silos approximately 50 feet high and 8 feet in diameter. A cinderblock
building under the silo, which houses a rock dust pod and a distribution
compressor is approximately 30'X 20'X 8'.
Pump House
A pre- engineered metal building designed to house the pump station which
supplies water to the mine operation. The pump house is located along the
Deer Trail Ditch. The building is approximately 18 feet by 12 feet with an 8-
foot eave height.
MR -149 2.05-17- 03/14
