MR295, Foidel Creek Mine
---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Ebert - DNR, Jared <jared.ebert@state. co.us>
Date: Wed, Apr 6, 2016 at 2:08 PM
Subject: Re: Twentymile Coal, LLC - Foidel CReek Mine (C-82-056), MR16-295 Passive Treatment System
Geotech
To: "Nettleton, Jerry" <JNettleton@peabodyenergy,com>
J erry,
Attached is an updated reclamation cost estimate for the revision. I agree that we can probably take out the Job
Super. cost given the size and type of work. The cost of "reclamation management and/or administration" is a
cost associated with the required Division inspection and oversight during the project as well as the required
inspection following project completion (until the Division's termination of jurisdiction, which is a minimum of 10
years after project completion). Given this, I cannot remove the cost, however as these areas would roll into the
larger site wide reclamation project in the unlikely event of permit revocation and forfeiture, the percentage used
to estimate this cost can be lowered given the size of the entire mine.
am ready to approved the revision if you concur with the estimate.
Jared
On Tue, Apr 5, 2016 at 12:43 PM, Nettleton, Jerry <JNettleton cr peabodyenergy, com> wrote:
Jared -
The attached revised pages respond to the items identified in your 04/01/16 Adequacy letter.
also reviewed the bond calculation - Given that the track -hoe that will be excavating the test pits, will
backfill, regrade, and re -spread the soil materials for each pit before moving on to the next one, as a practical
matter, I'm not sure that we need to include time and costs for a "Job Superintendent" or for "Reclamation
Management and/or Administration" in the reclamation estimate??
Please feel free to contact me with questions, or to discuss -
Best regards,
Jerry
Jerry M.
