TRI-STATE GENERATION AND TRANSMISSION ASSOCIATION, INC.
HEADQUARTERS: P.O. (Tri-State), is the parent company to
Axial Basin Coal Company, which is the general partner to Colowyo Coal Company L.P. (Colowyo).
Therefore, Tri-State on behalf of Colowyo is submitting three (3) copies of minor revision 152 (MR -152)
to Permit No. C-1981-019.
MR -152 documents ground disturbing activities associated with the Inactive Mine Reclamation
Program (IMR) drilling project to abate the underground Axial Mine Fire. IMR will be constructing
approximately 15 drill sites within the Colowyo permit boundary to drill and pump grout into the
abandoned underground mine working for the Axial Mine. During the project IMR will be creating
disturbance to support drilling activities which may include but is not limited to temporary road(s), drill
pads, drill holes, and mud pits. All potential disturbances within the permit boundary should occur on
Colowyo private land holdings. Colowyo as the surface owner supports the project, and will work
directly with IMR for reclamation measures for all disturbances that occur. Should drilling occur on any
Bureau of Land Management (BLM) surface holdings, IMR will work directly with BLM and meet their
requirements from the project.
Also included in this minor revision application is a change of index sheet to ease incorporation
into the permit document and a revision application. If you should have any additional questions or
concerns please feel free to contact Tony Tennyson at (970) 824-1232 at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Daniel J.
