Reclamation Cost Estimate <br />25. DRMS Nov 2015: DRMS began a reclamation cost estimate for the proposed project, however the <br />permittee must address the adequacy review issues regarding the Topsoil Handling and Reclamation <br />Plan in order to complete the reclamation cost estimate. <br />GCCE Mar 2016: Noted. <br />L. Radionuclides Testing <br />During a teleconference between representatives of Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety (DRMS), Office <br />of Surface Mining (OSM) and local land owners a question was raised regarding the absence or presence of <br />naturally occurring radioactive elements in coal formations, and surface and groundwater. <br />DRMS Nov 2015: Please consider including the monitoring of radionuclides in the water sampling of these <br />proposed wells. References on this topic such as United States Geological Service (USGS) or the Colorado <br />State Geologist studies or white papers may prove useful sources of information. <br />GCCE Mar 2016: GCC EneM has considered including the monitoring of radionuclides in the proposed well. We <br />have been unable to locate any precedence for such a request for, what we believe to be unnecessary and vga <br />expensive testing. Please explain the scientific basis° or your request and direct us to existing cases where testing <br />for radionuclides in coal mines has been warranted and required. <br />
