EXHIBIT D
6.4.4 EXHIBIT D - Mining Plan
McCormick Excavation And Paving LLC (applicant) Stewart II
A. Mining methods are strip topsoil and stock pile. Remove overburden to sand gravel. And if
necessary screen sand and gravel. Once sand and gravel are removed, put overburden in that
location to proper slope and grade. Install topsoil on overburden and prepare it for seeding.
B. Earth moving to be done by scrapers, dozers and loaders.
C. There should not be any water impoundments other than what would be natural. And
diversions would be on top of the hills to divert water around the proposed area. It would not
reroute any water. All runoff will still end up at the same location if the project was not there.
D. Size of area to be worked at one time. Roughly nine acres would be the size of area disturb at
one time. The project will be in phases, this should help keep the size down.
E. Time table for phase 1 is there should be about 2 years left of the phase. And as we strip and
remove overburden we will place these in the areas that are finished. Once phase one is all
complete in mining we will prepare area for seeding. This should be done immediately after
area is prepped. Then during this time phase 2 will be ongoing and the same steps will follow on
this portion. Phase 2 may have up to 5 years on it.
1. See time line above.
2. The phase 1 size should not be more than 9 acres at most. The area being mined will be
around 4 acres disturbed and another 3 acres to be used in work area. These 3 acres and the
other already mined area will be in stages of reclamation. Phase 2 will be worked in a
direction going south. This will not allow this area to be reclamated till project is mined out.
The other area in the pit will be under some type of reclamation stage. That are not in the
work area or overburden stockpile area.
3. Phase 1 will be the north area of the pit. Phase 2 will be the south end of the pit that we are
adding on. Phase 1 will finish up within the next 2 years and it will then be under reclamation.
As phase 1 is under reclamation phase 2 will start being stripped and overburden removed.
Parts of the is phase that can be reclamated will start. But the portion that will get mined will
not be able to be reclamation till it is fully mined.
F. Material to be gotten from this fill dirt, sand and gravel. The depth of material ranges from 8
feet to 10 feet in depth. The overburden is a sandy loam silt that ranges in depth of 1 feet to 5
feet in depth in phase 1. Phase 2 material will be the same, and the sand gravel depth is around
10 feet to 15 feet in depth. The overburden is around 12 feet to 15 feet in depth. That will have
to removed.
II The nature of the stratum immediately beneath the material to be mined in sedimentary
deposits are a red clay.
G. The primary product is sand and gravel, these will be used in agriculture uses and construction.
The secondary product is overburden that will be used in agriculture uses and construction as
well.
1. No explosives will be used in mining portion or the reclamation portion of this site.
