TRAPPER MINING INC.
March 24, 2016
Ms. Tabetha N. Lynch
Environmental Protection Specialist RECEIVED
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203 MAR 2 9 2016
Dear Ms. Lynch: DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING & SAFETY
RE: Semi-annual Geotechnical Monitoring Report — March 2016
Trapper Mining Inc. (TMI) began submitting semi-annual monitoring reports to the Division, beginning March
2008 with the last report completed on September 28, 2015. TMI has been monitoring the 2006 landslide area
for movement through the use of a continuous monitoring system.
Section 3.3.3 of TMI's permit details the initial configuration of the monitoring system. Currently, there are three
sites (site 8, site 10 and site 11) that are monitoring the area. A map has been attached showing the location of
these sites.
Displacement graphs for all three sites covering the time period of September 24, 2015 through March 24, 2016
are attached. The monitoring software does not allow the option of picking particular dates to graph. There are
a few spikes in the graphs. The system has a filter that is supposed to remove these spikes but some corrupted
data still passed through. All sites have shown minimal amount of movement.
An inclinometer graph for site 8 has been attached. This graph has shown minimal amount of movement.
TMI's Permit Revision 7 (PR7) has been approved. TMI submitted a Technical Revision 115 (TR -115)
requesting to remove the slope monitoring requirements from the permit. This revision is currently in the public
review process. TMI is working on submitting a new ground control plan that will do away with the slope
monitoring plan that is currently in TMI's ground control plan.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Tonia Perkins, P. E.
Senior Mining Engineer
P.O. Box 187 Craig, Colorado 81626 (970) 824-4401
