PERMIT #: M-1981-112
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: March 15, 2016
Two other issues were noted during this inspection that will need to be addressed regardless of the
resumption of dredge operations. First is the replacement of the illegible site identification sign (Photo 1).
Second is the correction of improper fuel storage and removal of stained soils within the northern portion of
the permit (Photo 5). DRMS has set a corrective action date of 4/29/16 for these issues. Proof that these
issues have been addressed will need to be submitted to DRMS by 4/29/16. If these issues cannot be
corrected by this date, the permittee will need to request additional time and provide justification to DRMS
for the requested extension to the corrective action date.
Due to the limited nature of the existing disturbance at the site at this time and the approved post mining land
use of industrial/commercial, the existing bond of $11,750 would be sufficient to complete reclamation at this
time if required.
It is important to note that a mining permit would not be required if the permittee wished to continue utilizing
the site for the current non -mining operations (material resale, concrete and asphalt recycling, various other
concrete and construction related work). These activities would be allowed under the approved post -mining
land use of industrial/commercial. A partial/full release request has been included with this report if the
permittee would like to pursue a partial or full release of the permit at this time. This form is also available on
the DRMS website (mining.state.co.us).
If the permittee wishes to resume sales of material extracted from the permitted site through dredging or
other means, the permit will need to be revised to fully address the previously listed issues.
GENERAL INSPECTION TOPICS
The following list identifies the environmental and permit parameters inspected and gives a categorical evaluation of each
(AR) RECORDS
PB (FN) FINANCIAL WARRANTY
(HB) HYDROLOGIC BALANCE PB (BG) BACKFILL & GRADING
(PW) PROCESSING WASTE/TAILING---- NA (SF) PROCESSING FACILITIES
(MP) GENL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE- PB (FW) FISH & WILDLIFE
(SM) SIGNS AND MARKERS
(ES) OVERBURDEN/DEV.
