Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
March 16, 2016
Page 2
2. With regard to groundwater level data, the operator referenced potentiometric surface maps
in section 2.04.7 of PAP from 1987. This does not address the need to provide data relevant
to mining impacts on the groundwater aquifers, which should be included in the AHR.
Please provide the groundwater elevation data with an interpretation identifying any trends
and mine impacts. This can be accomplished with current annual potentiometric surface
maps andlor graphical representation and an explanation of the data.
Response: The water quantity and quality data obtained from each groundwater monitoring
site during the water year contains elevation information. Therefore, the written
interpretation of the monitoring data which will be provided from the 2016 AHR forward
should be sufficient in providing data relevant to mining impacts on the groundwater
aquifers.
If you have any questions regarding the enclosed adequacy review responses, please contact Tony
Tennyson at (970) 824-1232 or ttenm son,'a tristategt.or!.
Sincerely,
Christopher S.
