Permittee Name:
Permit No:
Operation Name:
Anniversary Date:
Siloam Stone, Inc.
M-1987-086
Bedrock Mine
03/16/2016
Additional information (as of 3/14/16)
7. Of the 47.73 acres ± disturbed at this mine, 13.55 acres ± is in the Stone
Yard that is a permanent facility that will remain when mining ends.
8. New area was disturbed this year covering 1.60 acres ± on the north side of
the mine (cross hatched \\). As we continued to mine in previously disturbed
areas (brown). The stone yard and temporary stone storage area remain
unchanged from last year. We continue to use the grizzlies' setup in 2002 for
processing stone in the Stone Yard. The following table shows the status of
the mine area, in acres, disturbed at the mine:
DISTURBANCE (NEEDING RECLAMATION)
STAGE 1
ac. t
ALLOWED BY
BOND ac. t
Slab stone mining (brown)
11.92
25.00
Reclaimed, seeded (green)
4.33
NA
Topsoil stockpiles (tan)
3.48
NA
Temporary Stone Storage Area (///)
28.00
35.00
Stone Yard
13.55*
13.55*
ITotal disturbance
47.73
60.00
* - historic Industrial use area - no reclamation required
9. No reclamation was required but as in the past we continue to cleanup
the pre -law disturbed area by filling, graded, and shaped the areas
around the perimeter of the area. An additional 2.38 acres was
partially backfilled in the northeast mining area. The size of the
Temporary Stone Storage Area (TSSA) changes during the year and the
grass on those areas previously disturbed are recovering. This is an
example of the ever changing size of the TSS area accounted for in the
bond calculation.
10. We will continue to remove stone from the slab stone mining areas and
stockpiled stone in the stone yard. We expect to expand into the area
lying between the slab stone mining areas in the north (purple). The
stone yard area is industrial area and would need no reclamation if
mining ended prematurely. We continue to add and remove stone from
the TSSA's as market demands dictate. No mining will take place
within the buffer zone along the Peck Creek Tributary to the north.
11. We will begin reclaiming a portion of the 8.0 acres previously mined.
12. At this time there are 4.33 acres ± (green) that have been shaped,
graded, resoiled and seeded. The 6th growing season starts this year
and the grasses are growing as expected.
14. We have approximately 62,900 cy of topsoil saved for reclamation,
located in around the mined area (brown).
21. The Annual Report Map is an excerpt from the application map showing
the southeast portion of the mine where mining activities are taking
place at this time. In November 2015 the bond was reviewed and was
adequate to cover the mine. As a reminder within the permit area for
this mine are 2 other mines, The Pinon Mine, M-1997-094 (6.26 ac ±)
and the Siloam Pit, M-1977-326 (9.99 ac ±) with separate bonds.
