Hays
Environmental Protection Specialist II
Re: The Never Ending Mining of the Loloff Pit
Mr. Peter S. Hays:
RI ED
MAR 011016
DIVISION OF RECLAAATiON
INNING AND SAFETY
The existing (grandfathered/registered) well on my property @665 Balsam
Avenue, Greeley, CO 80631 has been rendered dry for at least four years. Four
plus years ago a new well was drilled supposedly to 60 feet, however, they only
drilled 40 feet. In any case, 60 feet would no longer be anywhere deep enough. I
have pictures of the poplar trees I bought and planted all along the North side of
my property which did very well until the loss of my well water. We had several
hundred year old trees that also died from lack of water and had, at some cost to
be removed.
Bob Baker of Global Assets Recovery has been paying my Northern
Colorado Water Conservancy bill. Mr. Derr said he would pay it but when I got a
bill for Seven Hundred something, I followed the chain of responsibility back to
Bob Baker who then followed the commitment back to Mill Iron who, in their
Contract stated that in the event of loss of well water, they would pay for same or
have drilled a new well until my water table had been brought back-up.
