PERMIT #: M-1985-200
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: March 15, 2016
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection of the Kula Gravel Pit 110c permit conducted by Eric Scott of DRMS
at approximately 1130 on March 15, 2016. Permittee representatives Cynthia Schmid and Nick Erker were
present during the inspection. The Kula Gravel Pit site is a 9.2 acre 110c permit with a current reclamation
bond of $11,891. The required site identification sign and permit boundary markers were present.
The approved reclamation plan for this site is for wildlife habitat consisting of primarily of an open water lake.
Slopes of the lake will need to be no steeper than 3:1. The approved augmentation plan (case# 87CW0011)
for this permit allows for a maximum exposure of 8.85 acres of water. The current condition of the site is
shown in the attached photos. There was evidence of a small excavation for material on the south shore of
the existing lake at the time of the inspection. The site will need to maintain activity
(mining/sales/reclamation activity) at least once every 180 days to avoid the requirement to be put into
temporary cessation status.
Due to the limited nature of the disturbance at the site, and the approved augmentation plan for the exposed
water, the existing bond of $11,891 would be sufficient to complete reclamation at this time if required. No
other issues were noted during this inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
Cynthia Schmid
4803 Prairie Ridge Drive
Fort Collins, CO 80526
