To this mixture <br />was added 100 mg of sodium chloride and 0.5 gram of anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The mixture was <br />shaken immediately and vigorously for about one minute. The methylene chloride layer was recovered <br />by centrifugation to separate the layers. The methylene chloride extract was then analyzed by GC -MS. <br />A blank water sample was prepared in parallel and analyzed as well. <br />GAS CHROMATOGRAPH AND MASS SPECTROMETER CONDITIONS: <br />Instrument: Hewlett-Packard Model 5890 gas chromatographic with autosampler coupled to a <br />Hewlett-Packard Model 5973 mass selective detector. <br />Injection: 1 µL in splitless mode, at 250 °C <br />Column: Column: 28 meter x 0.32 mm id x 0.5 µm df 1313-5 capillary column. <br />Temperature Program: 45 °C for 2 minutes, heating to 310 °C at 10 °C /minutes. <br />Head pressure at 5 psi at 45 °C, constant pressure thereafter. <br />ADDRESS 960 West LeVoy Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA 84123 1 PHONE +1 801 266 7700 1 FAX +1 801 268 9992 <br />ALS GROUP USA, CORP.
