0#1 <br /> RECEIVED <br /> MAR 15 2016 <br /> DIVISION OF RECLAMATION <br /> March 11,2016 MINING AND SAFETY <br /> i�6L <br /> Mr. Tyler O'Donnell AGGREGATE <br /> Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety <br /> INDUSTRIES <br /> 1313 Sherman Street,Room 215 <br /> Denver, CO 80203 <br /> Re: Permit M-1999-034—Cooley Reservoir and Fulton Wildlife Area - TR-05 <br /> Preliminary Adequacy Review Response <br /> Dear Tyler: <br /> This letter is in response to the Division's February 25,2016 preliminary adequacy review of <br /> Aggregate Industries' (Al)technical revision as referenced above. <br /> 1) Will the area between the South Platte River and Phase 3 where the water exited the site <br /> during the breach in summer 2015 be repaired at the same time as the repair descried in <br /> TR-05. <br /> Repairs within the permit boundary in the area between the South Platte River and Phase <br /> 3 where the water exited the site during the 2015 flood event were repaired by Thornton <br /> as noted in the Division's report of its August 18,2015 inspection. Additional repair <br /> work outside and east of the permit boundary,on land owned by Al,will be conducted at <br /> the same time as the repair described in TR-05. <br /> 2) Will the backfill material come from within the site, or will the backfill material be <br /> trucked in?It the material is being trucked in the Operator/Applicant will need to <br /> complete a notice of inert backfill, and comply with the Requirements of Rule 3.1.5(9). <br /> As stated in the revision request,pit run from the reservoir will be used. Additionally, <br /> clay soils from an on-site stockpile located in the northwest corner of the site may be <br /> used. Type M riprap will be hauled into the site from AI's Morrison Quarry(Permit M- <br /> 1993-021). Enclosed is an affidavit certifying that said riprap is clean and inert. <br /> 3) Pursuant to Rule 6.5.2,please provide the physical characteristics of the desired earthen <br /> backfill materials. <br /> The pit run from the reservoir is granular soil(sand and gravel) sediment deposited in the <br /> reservoir.
