New Horizon Mine <br />100 percent over the course of the year. The CC Ditch Company <br />discontinued water delivery October 5, 2015. <br />c. Irrigated Pasture Yields <br />First cutting occurred from mid-June to early July. The second cutting <br />occurred from mid-August to mid-September. In general the fields were <br />harvested from west to east, after hay removal, the water was restarted on <br />the individual fields, west to east. <br />In 2015, the pasture yields first cutting varied from 1,868 lbs/acre to 4,641 <br />lbs/acre with an average of 3,423 lbs/acre. The second cutting yields <br />varied from 1,050 lbs/acre to 3,237 lbs/acre with an average yield of 2,213 <br />lbs/acre. In contrast the reference area first cutting yielded 3,159 lbs/acre <br />and the second cutting yielded 1,818 lbs/acre. <br />For 2015, the cutting performance on the second cutting was <br />approximately 65 percent of the first cutting. Meanwhile, the Reference <br />Area second cutting performance was approximately 58 percent of the first <br />cutting. The harvesting areas are shown on Map 7. <br />E. WILDLIFE MONITORING <br />No wildlife monitoring occurred in 2015. <br />F. INTERIM REVEGETATION REPORT <br />The 2015 Interim Revegetation Report can be found in Attachment 9. <br />G. WEED MANAGEMENT <br />During 2015, approximately 75 acres were treated for noxious weeds by spot spraying, <br />and mechanical removal of Russian -olives and tamarisk. Map 8 shows the general areas <br />that were treated; however, some sites were small and random and thus too small to <br />accurately depict on a map. Included in Attachment 7 are the types and mixture of <br />herbicides used, and the date of treatment. All herbicides were applied following <br />manufacturing label recommendations and by a licensed vegetation management <br />professional. <br />Target species for noxious weeds included Knapweed(s), Thistle(s), White Top, Russian - <br />olive, saltceder/tamarisk, burdock, mullein, halogeton, and Western whorled milkweed. <br />H. PEST MANAGMENT <br />In October 2015, the New Horizon 2 Mine conducted Prairie Dog mitigation on <br />approximately 160 acres. The licensed exterminators employed carbon dioxide <br />treatments to active holes. Each hole was covered; the next day if a hole showed activity <br />2015 Annual Reclamation Report Page 4 <br />
