Annual Report—2015 <br /> Henderson Mine and Mill Reclamation Activities <br /> Permit No. M-1977-342 <br /> Viewpoint (imazapyr and aminocyclopyrachlor) was applied to parking areas, substations, building <br /> perimeters and fence lines for ground sterilization and Rodeo (glyphosate) was added to eliminate all <br /> existing vegetation. <br /> Similar to 2014, roughly 145 acres were treated around the Henderson Mine, URAD Mine and county <br /> road right-of-ways. <br /> 1.4.2— Water Quality Data <br /> Water quality data will be provided in the Annual Water Quality Data Report, due to the DRMS,per the <br /> approved Groundwater Management Plan(TR-16). <br /> 2.0 Henderson Mill <br /> 2.1 Disturbance <br /> Approximately 42 acres were disturbed in 2015. All of these disturbances occurred within the currently <br /> approved Affected Land boundary. <br /> The mill disturbances included the typical area inundated by the tailing impoundment, the area occupied <br /> by the sand seam project,well pads and continued gravel production. <br /> 2.2 Interim Reclamation <br /> Interim stabilization efforts included the salvage of 149,300 cubic yards of topsoil/growth media from <br /> inundation areas along the upstream side of the tailing impoundment. The material was placed in the <br /> North and Ranger Gulch stockpiles,which is situated on the northern end of the impoundment. <br /> Routine maintenance of erosion and sediment control structures was carried out in 2015. <br /> 2.3 Other Activities <br /> 2.3.1— Weed Control <br /> For 2015, Henderson Mill received weed treatments in July and August collectively totaling <br /> approximately 450 acres. The two treatments covered the following areas: around all shops and mill <br /> parking lots,roadsides around the tailing pond,the northern non-industrial areas,the haul roads,the upper <br /> canal road,on and below the dam, and the portal. <br /> These areas were treated for the following noxious weeds: Houndstongue, Canada Thistle, Bull Thistle, <br /> Musk Thistle, Yellow Toadflax, Mayweed Chamomile, Diffuse Knapweed, Common Mullein and Oxeye <br /> Daisy. <br /> The herbicides used for treatement include: Weedestroy (2,4-D Amine), Garlon 3A (Triclopyr), Induce, <br /> Telar XP (chlorsulfuron), Viewpoint (Imazapyr, Aminocyclopryrachlor), RangerPro (Glyphosate), MSO <br /> and Blue Hi-Lite indicator dye. <br /> Additionally, all fuel storage locations(gasoline,diesel and propane)were treated with Roundup Pro(soil <br /> sterilizers to prevent any vegetative growth). <br /> Page 2 <br />
