Trapper Mining Inc., TR -115
Page 12
to monitor movement as requested by the Trapper Mine MSHA ground control plan and the
Division. Currently the ground control plan has been updated and no longer requires this
monitoring and nearly all the monitoring stations have been removed as a result of mining
progression. Trapper also requests the discontinuation of the semi-annual reporting requirement
of slide monitoring to the Division.
Page 3-28 updated to reflect new PR -07 permit boundary. Pre -blast surveys are included
corresponding with this updated list. Pages 3-182 and 3-183 are updated with new information
pertaining to facilities on the site. Currently a new building for blasting vehicle and equipment
storage is being constructed just north of the East A -Pit road near Middle Flume pond. New
Appendix A material has also been included to revise our bond estimate for demolition of this
building. Revisions have also been made to maps M -13A, M -13C for facilities updates regarding
the blasting building and Map M9 to revise proposed haulroad construction timeframes and
routes.
Pages 4-242, 2-444, 4-245, 4-247a are updated to add three new monitoring wells drilled on the
eastern edge of the mine site in the new PR -07 extended permit area. Wells GLEV-1, GLEV-2
and GLEV-3 were completed to fulfill baseline and continued monitoring of the eastern part of
the mine and possible expansion areas east of the wells. They are being monitored on the same
frequency as the other established wells on the site and will be included in the 2015 Annual
Hydrology Report. Trapper also proposes the discontinuation of monitoring and abandonment of
well P-3 in Pyeatt Gulch. It was discovered that at some time in the recent past the well bore
itself appeared to have either collapsed or sheared. The full depth of the well can no longer be
reached and is no longer useful for monitoring. The well is completed in the Lewis Shale just
north of the current permit boundary in Pyeatt Gulch. That particular geologic strata was not
directly disturbed by mining at Trapper, and will not be in the future. Well P-1 is completed in
the shallow alluvium deposits of Pyeatt Gulch just west of P-3. Historically these two wells have
demonstrated similar static water levels and water quality. Further data from well P-3 is no
longer necessary and it would be impractical to re-establish the well at this point in time.
The post mining topography proposed and approved with PR -06 has been revised for the K Strike
Pit area in order to achieve a more natural landscape and improve drainage features and design in
the regraded spoils. Map M12 has been revised to reflect these changes. Also small changes in
the ash disposal area and future PMT corrections are included on Maps M12 and M47a. Revised
materials for Appendix T are also included to incorporate new diversion ditch designs for the
northeast side of the horse gulch fill. The revised PMT will use several smaller and shorter
containment ditches to segregate drainage from the fill and regraded spoils and direct it to
designed drainages.
The limits of topsoil stripping have been revised on Map M10B to reflect the proposed stripping
in 2016 and 2017 to the south and eastern side of L Dip Pit. The newly proposed stripping limits
will include 49.7 additional acres of disturbance beyond the approved PR -07 disturbance.
