Aerial images were taken on February 26,
2016,by Harry Ranney of DRMS. The images were reviewed by Janet Binns of DRMS on March 1,2016.
The mine is a reclaimed surface mine. The operation is in various stages of Bond Release, with the majority of the
reclaimed area having recieved Phase II bond release in the past. The site is snow covered with a good snow pack.
Roads are not plowed inthe winter months and on site activities are limited to required water and pond monitoring.
Snow machines are used to access the required locations.
FISH and WILDLIFE—Rule 4.18:
Some animal tracks were observed in the southern portion of the reclaimed area, and also crossing the
neck pit area. No animals were caught on camera at the time of the aerial photos. Taller vegetation still protrudes
through the snow pack to provide browse for wildlife.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9:
Ponds throughout the site are frozen and snow covered. Not all of the ponds were photographed.
Pond 11A was visible. This stock tank was frozen and snow covered with a solid snow cover in the associated
drainage area. No evidence of gully formation or other damage could be noted in the pond area. This stock tank
appears to hold a large snowdrift.
Pond 13 was frozen and snow covered. There was no open water and the discharge pipe was visible. No
discharge could be seen in the photo, nor was there evidence(ice below the discharge pipe)that any discharge had
recently occurred. No concerns were identified with the drainages or slopes to Pond 13.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 7
