The Colburn lode was patented on July 17, 1901, under GLO Document No. 34227. The Colburn
lode patent excludes MS 8233 Sunrise lode, MS 8731 Little Hope lode, MS 9370 Illk lode,Tracts B and C of MS 9572 Elk
lode, and Tract D of MS 9572 Moose lode. As patented, the Colburn lode contains 4.76 acres. This is the same net acres
shown in the 1901 field notes, which excludes the entire 2.606 acres in conflict with the Little Hope lode. Based on the
surveys and the patent documents, the 0.23 acre exclusion from the Little Hope lode did not become part of the
patented Colburn lode, and is still un-patented public land.
